The Constant Angle Variable: Adhesive strength is inherently rate-sensitive and angle-sensitive. The AFERA 5001 fixture must maintain a constant peel angle throughout the entire stroke. If the substrate plate chatters or the linear bearing binds, the resulting data will show sawtooth peaks that are artifacts of friction rather than adhesive properties. Because the forces involved are often low (under 50N), the tare weight of the fixture must be precisely balanced to ensure the load cell operates in its most linear range.
