Test Fixtures for ASTM C1550 Model: G-ASTM-C1550

This standard focuses on the Flexural Toughness of Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) using a centrally loaded round panel. It is the definitive test for shotcrete liners in tunnel engineering. The primary metric is Energy Absorption (Joules) up to a 40mm displacement. To execute this correctly, the test machine must be capable of Closed-Loop Displacement Control. If the machine is run in Load Control, the specimen will explode at the first crack. MTO’s controllers utilize a high-resolution LVDT mounted directly under the center of the panel to bypass any frame deflection. The lead generation angle here is our Large-Scale FRC Frame, which features a specialized three-pivot support rig that prevents the panel from rocking during the post-crack phase. Capturing the residual strength curve accurately is what separates our laboratory-grade systems from cheaper, manual hydraulic presses used in basic quality control.
