Breaking Load and Flexural Properties of Block-Type Thermal Insulation. Similar to C165 but for bending. This standard allows for very large specimens, which means our Flexure Base must be exceptionally long (up to 1 meter). The technical nuance involves the Span-to-Depth Ratio. To ensure a flexural failure rather than a shear failure in these relatively thick blocks, the span must be carefully calculated based on the specimen’s thickness. MTO’s flexure fixtures feature an etched scale and adjustable V-blocks for the rollers, allowing operators to change the span in seconds while maintaining sub-millimeter symmetry.
