Measures the Yield Strength of Preformed Tape Sealants. This is a compression test. We measure the force required to compress the tape to a specific thickness. Because tape sealants are often tacky, the compression platens must be made of high-polish stainless steel or coated with Teflon to prevent sticking, which would interfere with the lateral flow of the sealant and skew the yield data.
