Specification for Rubber Insulating Blankets. The mechanical focus is on tensile strength, elongation, and Puncture Resistance. Because these blankets are used by electrical lineworkers, failure is not an option. MTO provides a Puncture Jig with a standardized needle geometry. The challenge is the high elongation of the rubber; our frames must have sufficient vertical travel (often > 1 meter) to reach the break point of high-stretch elastomers while maintaining a constant strain rate.
