The Peel Strength (T-Method) of Hook and Loop Fasteners. Similar to D5169 but pulls the strips apart at 180 degrees. The technical challenge is the Averaging Logic. Because the hooks release in discrete rows, the load-displacement curve is extremely jagged. MTO’s software utilizes a Peak-Valley averaging algorithm over the middle 50% of the peel to provide a repeatable value for Average Peel Tenacity, which is the industry-standard metric for fastener performance.
